Global Partnership from China to Turkey's Satellite Power
Türksat signed important cooperation agreements with Chinasat and Spacesail, two leading satellite operators of the People's Republic of China. The agreements aim to develop new technologies in international in-flight internet (IFC), global maritime communications, mobility solutions, disaster and emergency communications and multi-orbit (GEO + LEO) services, and to provide joint satellite services in world markets.
Turkey's satellite communications operator Türksat A.Ş. signed two important agreements in China in order to consolidate its power in the global satellite market. Chinasat Communication Co., one of China's largest satellite operators. Ltd. and with Spacesail, which works on multi-orbit solutions, Türksat will expand the coverage of the satellite communication services it offers both in Turkey and around the world.
– Global Mobility and Aviation Cooperation with Chinasat

At the ceremony, Türksat General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay and Satellite Services Deputy General Manager Dr. Selman Demirel represented Chinasat, CEO Ma Haiquan, Aero Link, CEO Xing Lihai, and Sinosat, CEO Zheng Tao. Within the scope of the agreement, high-capacity satellite services will be developed in critical areas such as internet service on aircraft, global maritime communications, terrestrial mobility and disaster communications. Thus, Türksat will be able to offer these solutions, which it has successfully implemented in Turkey, more powerfully throughout the world.
-Worldwide Competition in Aviation and Maritime
Making a statement about the cooperation agreement, Türksat General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay stated that the agreement is of great strategic importance for Türksat and said, "This cooperation agreement we signed with Chinasat will further expand Türksat's sphere of influence in the global satellite communication market. We have the capacity to jointly develop solutions that will meet the need for fast, secure and uninterrupted communication infrastructure that competes worldwide in the aviation and maritime sectors." he said. Chinasat CEO Ma Haiquan stated that the technology know-how of the two institutions will produce a strong result on a global scale and said, "This partnership with Turksat will pave the way for new generation services in in-flight internet solutions and maritime communications. Turkey and China's know-how in satellite technology will offer innovative solutions to the world market." he said.
– Multiple Orbit Era with Spacesail
The Türksat delegation also made a second cooperation agreement with the China-based space technologies company Spacesail, covering multi-orbit communication systems. The agreement was signed by General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay on behalf of Türksat, and President Dr. on behalf of Spacesail. Jason Jie Zheng signed. Within the scope of the cooperation, high capacity and low latency communication solutions will be developed using GEO and LEO satellite infrastructures together. This agreement will pave the way for flexible and uninterrupted communication services for sectors such as energy, mining, maritime, in-house data networks and aviation. Türksat General Manager Atalay stated that this cooperation is of great importance for Türksat's strong entry into the multi-orbit period and said, "This cooperation is an important step in Türksat's vision of providing innovative communication solutions in the region. Beijing Embassy Visit
As part of the contacts in China, the Türksat delegation also visited Selçuk Ünal, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Beijing. During the meeting, Türksat's global satellite communication activities and new cooperation topics that could be carried out with the People's Republic of China were discussed. Türksat delegation also attended the Republic Reception organized by the Embassy.
