Strategic Cooperation in Fiber Infrastructure Between Türksat and Vodafone

Türksat A.Ş. and Vodafone Turkey have signed a strategic cooperation protocol aimed at strengthening Türkiye’s digital infrastructure and expanding fiber internet access. Within the scope of Türkiye’s digital transformation goals, the “Supplementary Protocol to the Framework Agreement on Wholesale Level Data Flow Access Service, TV Service, and Support Services,” which will combine the fiber capabilities of the public and private sectors, was signed by Türksat General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay and Vodafone Türkiye CEO Engin Aksoy.
Under the agreement, Vodafone will begin delivering fiber internet services to an additional 1.3 million households using Türksat’s fiber infrastructure. As a result, the total number of households accessible through Vodafone’s fiber infrastructure will rise to 23.7 million.
With the signatures, duplicate investments will be prevented, existing fiber resources will be used more efficiently, and digital access inclusivity will be enhanced. This public–private partnership model marks the beginning of a new era in Türkiye’s digital infrastructure ecosystem. Additionally, low-latency fiber technology will be made available to a broader audience. Through the infrastructure-sharing model, the efficiency of Türksat’s existing fiber investments will also be increased.
Türksat General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay stated that this cooperation will accelerate the digitalization process of households and institutions across Türkiye: “By combining Türksat’s strong fiber infrastructure with Vodafone’s service network, we have made a strategic contribution to Türkiye’s digitalization vision. This model, which prevents duplicate investments, will transform our technological resources into high efficiency and provide direct added value to our national economy. This cooperation will stand as one of the strongest examples of partnership between Türkiye’s leading communication and technology companies in line with our sustainable growth goals.”
Vodafone Türkiye CEO Engin Aksoy emphasized the importance of expanding the fiber internet network for Türkiye’s digital future:
“As Vodafone, we are pleased to collaborate with a strong domestic technology partner like Türksat in line with our commitment to delivering the best experience to our customers. This strategic cooperation—along with the expanding infrastructure collaborations between Türksat and Vodafone—will enable us to provide faster, more reliable, and high-quality fiber internet services. By expanding our fiber internet access network, we will offer uninterrupted, high-speed internet to more homes and workplaces. Thus, we will make a significant contribution to Türkiye’s digitalization vision. With this agreement, we will also become the telecom operator capable of delivering fiber internet technology to the highest number of households in Türkiye. We thank Türksat officials for this valuable cooperation and wish the upcoming process success for both parties.”
